Background:     The MBTA and local officials and guests will celebrate the new home of the Partisans sculpture.   The famous sculpture commemorates the Polish Partisan fighters who battled the German occupation of Poland, the Soviet Army and Polish Communists.

               From 1983 to January 2006, the Partisans sculpture was located on the Boston Common.  On Wednesday, September 6, 2006, the sculpture is being relocated to the MBTA’s World Trade Center Station on the South Boston Waterfront.
