On the end of March the MBTA Director of Design, Barbara Boylan in TV's "Greater Boston" interview with Emily Rooney has said that she will look for anyone's project of a plaque to place it by the "Partisans". PARTYZANCI - THE PARTISANS
Created in 1979 by Andrzej Pitynski
The commemoration of underground fighters who battled German occupation of Poland, the Soviet Army, and then Polish Communists during and after World War II.
Polish Armed Forces in World War II numbered about half a million people. They fought entirely on the Allied side against the German Nazis coalition mainly in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. After the war ended, Poland was still left under the dictatorship of Stalin and the USSR
The “Partisans” by A. Pitynski depicts Polish freedom fighters against first the German occupation 1939-45, than Soviet Red Army, and their Polish collaborators. The history of the armed resistance for more than 15 years after the war ended and the partisans had become essential part of the moral foundation for anticommunist opposition in Poland. It was the beginning of the Solidarity movement in 80' and finally free Poland in 90's. Polish partisans laid a corner stone for knocking down the Berlin Wall, demounting the USSR, and ending communism in Europe.
Additional Plaque:

Version I
PARTISANS
By Andrzej Pitynski
The sculpture, created in 1979, depicts Polish underground fighters who continuously battled, first the German and Soviet invasion during War World II (1939-45), and then the communists (1945-89).
When the Solidarity movement finally brought about the liberation of Poland from the communists in 1989, it inspired freedom actions in other Central and Eastern European countries. As a result, this memorial can now be symbolic of freedom fighters around the world.
Since March 2006 on lease to MBTA from the Sculpture Foundation.
Version II

VersionI
There are Five Freedom Fighters so lets think in terms of 5 separate glass or Plexiglas plaques with wording on them. The glass would let a view of the sculpture as not to obstruct any of it ( the glass would also act would prevent people from climbing onto the sculpture) the back side I believe will be up against a fence so that would not be a problem. This would also be an inexpensive design with maximum impact.
Each plaque would be dedicated with the following topics ---- need wording developed for each!!!!
1: Polish Partisans 1939 -- 1945
2: Polish Military in Exile Polish Army Battles under Allies and Soviets, Polish Air Force and Polish Navy
3: Polish Partisans 1945 - 1989 Solidarity
4: Polish American Contribution
5: Partisans of Other Nations
Note: This plan should inform tourist of Polish suffering and accomplishments.
I had a display similar to this on 60th anniversary of WWII at Charlestown Navy Yard. lot of tourist liked getting information that no one knows.

For their efforts the Poles lost their country to Soviet communist invaders. Polish Partisans would continue their struggle from 1945 to 1989 until Soviet Communist gave in to the Sol;idarity movement which freed up millions of other Eastern European peoples.
The Polish Partisans were the first to fight and the largest they welcome all other countries that fought for their freedom and are depicted in this Sculpture.
